2009 Filled With Terrorists and Technology

December 31st, 2009

2009 was a year like many that seen many trends come and some go.. Crocks are no longer allowed for every day wear. I have learned the hard way.. apparently there was a fashion expert on TV that pointed this out but I don’t care do you?  Speaking of Crock…. this year saw us get fed a crock of you know what with bailout’s to corporate america every twist and turn from the very beginning of 2009 after President Obama took office and promised the world “Change”.  Bank Of America and CIT Group seen some change but the taxpayers did not…

This year many people adopted more technologies that have been around before 2009. For example Social Media sites like Facebook launched on February 4, 2004 and infamous MySpace in August 2003. Myspace was eventually overtaken internationally in August of 2008 so that is why this year 2009 it seems like the craze of facebook has had everyone adding friends and creating every sort of fan page you can imagine like.. Texting the person next you stuff that you can not say out loud.. yes that is a fan page.. During 2009 when facebook was having a record year with everyone signing up and logging in atleast 1-3 times a day Myspace was forced to cut 30% of its workforce in June of 2009. Where was the bailout there! We needed a social media bailout! where was it?

And then there was “Twitter” March 21, 2006… 140 characters. Short form communication is now a reality to people who normally would have said what is that and how does it work. For business owners and marketers social media is an extremely important part of todays business.

But guess what here is what I see for 2010. People are going to be logging in less to facebook and twitter. You see many people are tired of having to log into all of these different accounts. I have accounts for Flickr, Myspace, Facebook, Youtube, Stumble Upon, Delicous, Linkedin, and Bebo…. so here is what I see happening. There are services that act as a gateway to your social media sites. You log into one site such as friendbinder and this site will allow you to update your status for both twitter and facebook at the same time.  There is another site called SPNb@bble that allows you to connect to many more sites and again updates more than one social media site at a time.

A great app for your iphone that will allow you  to update your status on Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace is called Statustic

So now we have covered the technology and it is time to talk about the least liked part of the message..and that is the terrorists.. and before I go there I must say that I am not racists, I am just going off the data that I am provided. There are people who claim to be on a jihad mission and they try to bring down our airliners like on Christmas day. This guy had explosives on his body in his underwear. He tried to do the same thing that Richard Reid the shoe bomber tried to do on December 22, 2001. Is it ironic that the dates were so close to one another? I don’t think so. These people want to cause as much damage as they can and will do whatever they can to do so.  I feel that somewhere along the chain of command there is a huge ball being dropped. Somewhere along the way this guy was dropping explosives out of his under wear yet he was still able to get on a plane to the USA. Instead of the government saying look there was some big miscommunication on why we can’t seem to stop the shoe bomb and the under wear bomb but look here is what we are going to do to prevent it from getting on the plane.. They say look we are going to set up some very strict guidelines basically we are going to run our airlines like a prison system. Prison systems are set up  to keep all contraband and weapons out of the prison system but yet shanks still make it into the system… cell phones, drugs, and money all make it into the system.. But below are some rules that have just been rolled out by the TSA..

1. Everyone must stay seated one hour before landing on international flights.

1. No blankets or pillows or items in laps in the last hour of a flight.

2. No announcements from the cockpit about cities, landmarks or perhaps even when planes start to descend.

3. No route-tracking displays on international flights

4. No laptop computer use in-flight. Some passengers reported this. Let’s hope it’s simply over-aggressive low-level TSA officials, air marshals or flight crews.

Now people if you look at any in flight situations that have occurred since 9/11 like the Richard Reid shoe bomber and this latest incident on Christmas day both of them were brought down by passengers people like Todd Beamer who was on hijacked United Airlines flight #93 under this new rule would not have been able to take control of that situation on that hijacked aircraft in fear that your going to be federally charged if that plane lands.

Let’s not forget the victims of the Fort Hood shooting. What upsets me about this case is that the terrorist who committed this heinous act that ended with 43 victims one of which was pregnant is that he is still referred to as a “suspect” in the case. If you look here you will see that when you get to his name Nidal Malik Hasan the terrorist who committed the act above his name they refer to him as a “suspect”. Hasan went to church with two of the 9/11 hijackers. A Rasmussen national survey found that 65% of Americans favor the death penalty in Hasan’s case, and that 60% want the case investigated as an act of terrorism.

In closing I wish you all a happy and and safe new year.. feel free to friend me on twitter or facebook and say hello more often in 2010 there are simply more ways to say hello!

Happy New Year,

Malcom Chakery

The iPhone and AT&T’s superfast 3g network..

December 30th, 2009

I have the coolest mobile device that has ever been placed out on the market besides the blackberry and the star tac. You can tweet, text, add a friend, edit your fan page, update a note while backpacking throughout the mountains in some far away country while listening to your favorite music artists from today or from when you where younger it can take you back to that day. I can even read the book of Matthew and play thousands of games I meant “Apps” that are available through the app store but I have a really hard time making and receiving calls in my home, around my home, driving down I-20, sometimes when I am on 30 and many times I feel like a failure because my phone keeps saying that I “failed” or it says “call failed” but I just see the “failed” after seeing it so many times it get’s embedded in your head. I tried to work this out with customer care and they said that you are stuck with the service and that if you cancel you would have to pay an early termination fee. I said that’s not cool so I got in touch with people higher up that respond to cases from the presidents office. They had some lady call me who was working from her home. The reason I know this is because unfortunately her child was sick and I could hear the little kiddo crying in the background so I didn’t hear back from her either, but I can understand the kids come first. AT&T has recently admitted that their service stinks in NYC and San Francisco read that article here.. However I am wondering why they think it’s winning awards in my area like Dallas, TX and the surrounding areas. I was able to get one rep who spoke to me that said that service in my area is not guaranteed in cars and in houses. I guess I am limited to making calls on my BIKE right AT&T??

I guess I would have liked a little better communication and a good way out of the agreement since the service does not work inside of my house or around it. I am committed to bringing this news to as many people as I can about how bad the service is for the iphone in my area as much as they are committed in making sure that they take care of me as a customer and not just activating my line of service and making sure that they have me locked in for the 2 year agreement. If your having problems and need support these are numbers to the higher ups that may be able to help you. It’s better than talking to the customer care reps that hang up with you after you ask  to speak to their supervisor right?

Mic Murphy, Executive Care Manager: 952-703-2310
Reyna Selena, Executive Care: 952-703-2369

I remember when AT&T would ” Reach Out And Touch Someone” now they don’t even return your calls…

I hope there is a better future for the customers of AT&T who have the iPhone and have been forced to use a sub par service because they have no way out of the big GIANT phone companies legal arm..

Have a Creative Day,

When you think of Pizza what comes to mind? I guess it depends where your from. You see if you are from the East Coast and live in New York or New Jersey you grow up eating the best pizza you can possibly have aside from being in Italy or something like that of course. Twitter and Social Marketing: The Perfect Combination

October 13th, 2009

Ever since MySpace was invented, highly technological entrepreneurs are doing everything they can to think of the next big marketing idea. Some ideas have failed, others, however, have done well and have become not only great social applications, but excellent social marketing tools. Twitter, for instance, is one amazing social networking tool that has become extremely popular and that has huge potential in the social marketing world.

Setting It Up

In order to effectively use a twitter account for social marketing, it is vital that you set up your Twitter profile correctly. If you don’t, you could be taken for a spammer, which will not gain you any favors in the Twitter world. Make sure you put your real name in the username space, and not your businesses name. You can promote your business better in the Bio section. Next, make sure your web address is written correctly in the web section. Also, make sure that you put your company’s location. Having a real location is a great way to begin a connection with your potential Twitter followers.

Your profile picture is also important to consider. If you want to be very sociable, you can put a headshot of you in the picture. Many businesses, however, use their company’s logo. Make sure that the logo looks good and is recognizable when it’s minimized so that your followers will know that it’s you when you post a Tweet.

Conversations

In order to effectively use Twitter, you need to engage in conversations and to have some friends. The best way to find friends for your business on Twitter is to look first to actual people you know. Befriend them and then you can start looking to their friends. This spirals out quickly and will give you a number of followers in a fairly short amount of time.

In order to keep these followers, and to gain more, make sure that you are using your 140 characters correctly. In some cases you only have one tweet to gain the attention of your followers, so make it a good one. If you’re talking about products, include shortened links to that product, and try to keep your tweets as fun to read as possible. You can especially garner a great deal of attention if you start having giveaways or contests via your Twitter account, as this allows your readers to connect to you and to get something in the bargain.

We have been clunked!! Cash For Clunkers

August 10th, 2009

So we have been clunked.. correct me if I am wrong but here is how I see it. Mr. Obama just gave a bunch of our taxpayer dollars away to help boost the clunked automotive industry which the government needed to do because we would not approve an auto industry bailout because we recently bailed out all of the banks. Please hear me out..

So the auto industry promotes a $4500 “Car Allowance Rebate System” which is the foundation and formation of “Cash For Clunkers” up to $4500 for your clunker http://www.cars.gov

Now not to be mean or anything.. But there is a reason why people drive clunkers. They drive them because they can’t afford to make payments on newer model vehicles. Didn’t we learn from the home mortgage loans that could not be paid back so many homes where foreclosed on?

Here is what I see happening in the very near future.. All of the people who cashed in on the cash for clunker proposition that Mr. Obama our dearly beloved president whom most of you adore will soon be having those vehicles repossed because they can not afford to make the payments on the vehicle that they traded their clunker in for. Yes, $4500 is allot of money but once that car payment falls behind say 60-90 days those people who cashed in will soon wish that they still had their beloved clunker still parked in their yard.

Now is the time for the repo man to make a ton of money. Now will be the time for the creditors to start calling the people that could not keep up on that clunking payment. I personally think that the government could see that this plan clucks and should have never approved the spending for such a clikky bill. Let me know your thoughts.

Fantich Media Group

August 1st, 2009

Marc Fantich… Told me in an email that he spoke with some of his friends and was advised to settle with us for the website but his remark was that he was not going to pay the full $1,000.00 owed to us by him. He wanted me to settle for less. Why should I settle for less when Fantich Media or Fantich Media Group has chosen to use the website. They pull it down and put it back up at their discretion. I want Marc Fantich to realize that this is not just about the money. It is about the lies that he has told me along the way to try to get me let this lack of ethics on his behalf just slide and go away.

With all of that said and if you are just hearing about what has happened you can fully catch up on this story on my blog here or on a website that we purchased http://www.fantichmediagroup.com

Also see the video on you tube.. Fantich Media

Also we have a new domain name called http://www.fantich.com and that site will be live soon with full details about the scenario that Marc Fantich has put him self in by simply not keeping to his part of the deal that he made with us.

More to come soon…

Fantich Media Group Update

July 26th, 2009
Marc Fantich, Fantich Media, Fantich Media Group

Marc Fantich, Fantich Media Group

Marc Fantich from the Fantich Media Group breached his web agreement with our website design company. So instead of hiring an attorney or passing it over to collections I chose to simply talk about it on my blog, facebook, twitter, and youtube.

I sent out a blast email to some of Marc Fantich’s closest friends so of course it made me look like the bad guy. But who wouldn’t side with their personal friend Marc Fantich in McAllen? Marc did a great job though of sending me the feedback from his friends, threatened to have someone come choke me, and even brought my children into the matter whom are only 3 and 2 years old.. which I have the emails again to back up.

I have been accused of handling this unprofessionally and can understand your points.. some people agree with how I am handling it seeing how you can go to www.fantichmedia.com and see that he is using the website design that Chakery Design provided him. He agreed to a cost.. and if I was late on finishing the project I offered a $250 discount for the lateness on my behalf. He seems to like the site and is using it.

At any rate here are some of the responses from some of Marc Fantich’s closest friends in the McAllen, TX area who seem to agree with Marc’s position that stealing files and using them without paying for them is simply ok.

This email is from Marc Fantich to me.
Yikes! No you didn’t? Did you…. Did you…… Holy God. You thought I was ruthless? Better hide Bitch. Manasse gonna rip you to threads!”

This email is from Chris Vonwald who seems to work for The Monitor in McAllen. I hope he doesn’t kiss his mother with that mouth..

Marc,

Just got a crazy e-mail from some idiot about your company. Tell him hes an ass for putting that out.

This short message from Pete Salas from Entravision
well this guy just made an enemy for life…..

Note to Pete: When you have friends like Marc Fantich… Who needs an Enemy..

This next email is from James Judkins and he gave his assement of the situation but again a friend of the Fantich Media Group.
” I hesitate to do anything but delete this message, but….

Typically in a situation like this, both people are at least 75% wrong.
And, the first person to start talking, usually tells the biggest lies.

If I was in the market for new web designers, and in fact I am, after receiving this from Mr. Chakery — and see that he has disclosed to the public personal and private emails — then I would hesitate to do business with that company.

Note To James: James.. when I sent out this message I wasn’t trying to earn any of Marc Fantich’s friends website design business. If you are in the market for a website please by all means contact Marc Fantich he will farm it out to someone like me but just not as good. It might look good it just won’t bring in any traffic. Good luck with that sir.

This email comes from Connie Bearden out of La Feria, TX to Marc
“Well!  That put an interesting end to a very long week!

Does the man realize what he just did?!  Blast email?  That is so RGV!!!  lol… This is a war that he will NEVER qualify to participate in — let alone win!  Looks to me like his business just got a better/faster rating (to the negative side) than if dealing with BBB or D/B!

Take a breath… enjoy your weekend… he will be trying to recoup from this stupidity for a while~with little or no success!”

Connie

Note To Connie: Connie, I enjoyed your message as I am sure Marc did as well. I took a very deep breath, enjoyed my weekend and worked a little because that’s just what I do.

This next email came from Patti Sunday and it was a direct reply to everyone. Marc fabricated this one a little or I will never know. he told me that Patti Sunday claims to pick up the clients that I have lost. But I don’t see any record of that nor would it bother me as clients do change providers from time to time. Marc would know that first hand. But here goes Patti Sunday’s Message.

I see a lot of pain here. I do not even want to read it. Look, times are challenging. We are in a recession. McAllen folks are really talented- and in many different ways. We need to help each other..lift each other up. Turn the other cheek and I guess find a constructive outlet for our frustrations.. or just be able to say

I suck.. I need a time out..

Just the physics of the wasted energy and creativity in whatever is going on here…

Maybe this is your type of therapy to vent…

Looks like a potential power struggle to me-

can we do a take #2 on this whole thing

or just crash this file …??Patti

Note To Patti: You hit the nail on the head! This is my way to vent. That is all I am doing here. I have tweeted about, facebooked about, youtubed, and will continue to blog about it. Could I take down the files? Of course! Will I? Ask yourself this question. Would Marc?

Well as I bring this post to a close here are some of my latest games for the weekend…. Do this… Go to www.google.com and do a search for “Fantich Media Group” on page 2 or 3 you will see a cool youtube video explaining in person what this is all about. You can also view the video by clicking here. It is all about Fantich Media Breaches Web Agreement.

Oh by the way I am selling a domain if your interested please let me know. The price is negotiable.

Fantich Media Breaches Agreement

July 24th, 2009

Marc Fantich owner of Fantich Media Group in McAllen, TX signed an agreement for Chakery Design to design the Fantich Media Website. Marc Fantich was provided with several mock ups and he chose this mock up . We then proceeded to add content provided Fantich Media. Marc Fantich commented ” I like the way you have it.” in an email dated 3/5/09.

Marc Fantich even went on to send me feedback from his son that he appointed as the project manager for this project. In an email dated 3/5/09 at 1:49pm.

“Just heard from ERIC….. here’s what he said…. (Hope you understand 24 year olds)

expletitive beaaaauuutiful! “

So we are off to a good start and building out the website that we were contracted to design. The client wanted the site ready by April 1, 2009. We worked with the client and we fell behind a little on the project at some points but offered a discount to the client for this delay on our behalf. But… I must say that our web agreement clearly states that we do not begin a project till we have the content to build the website. Anyone can understand that right? In this case we were still recieving content on 3/31/09.

Needless to say the website went live on 4/1/09. You can see the website here .  On 4/29/01 I sent the client the final invoice. Here are his responses below.

“Cash is a little tight… I’ll do my best … There is no discount for being 200% late? Or is that just the way it goes?”

Marc Fantich, Fantich Media Group

Special Note: Chakery Design gave Fantich Media Group a $250 discount for lateness…

More emails from Marc Fantich of Fantich Media Group Below.

Date 5/12/09 in an email to me cc’d to Marsha who is Marc Fantich’s mom in accounting see below.

Business is real slow and I need a week or so…. Marc

Marsha, This $1000 is for the web site we ordered for our company a few months back. We need to pay him as soon as we can. Marc

Date 5/27/09 in an email to me from Marc Fantich of Fantich Media Group

Cash is really tight…

Things are really slow right now and I have a guy doing a redo on the (3 month site) site.

I’ll pay you, but it will be delayed.

Date 6/1/09 in an email to me From Marc Fantich of Fantich Media Group

you are making it hard to sign this $500 check. It’s been on my desk since Wed.

Ok… Marc Fantich actually owes me $1000.00 but refuses to pay it. He has since used the site till yesterday when I asked him to remove the site and take it down. He tried to intimidate me by telling me that he was in a meeting with 3 lawyers, a judge, a candidate, and a guy with 40 million dollars. Working on an election. He said they took a short break to tell them that i planned to blog about this and he said that they were laughing at me. He told me to look up defamation of charictor… yes he spelled character incorrectly.

I was warned about Marc Fantich before i started doing business with him. I was told clearly to make sure that I got paid upfront. But I trusted him. Silly me…

Irony has a funny way of playing itself out though. Marc wanted me to offer a very close friend/business partners a great deal on a website design project.

He sent this email below…. Dated 2/18/09 Subject New Client and he CC’d his friend Ryan Murphy.

Malcom… “Undisclosed Name” is my business partner in this business here

He needs a website… Please contact him and extend him all courtesies that you’d extend to me.

His email is above.

I think his project in much more complicated than mine.

How’s mine coming? Marc

In the very next email sent to me from Marc Fantich of Fantich Media Group he instructs me to make sure that I get paid in full upfront his message below.

From Marc Fantich To Me

“For your eyes only… CASH UP FRONT!”

In summary to my blog which are all facts and I have all of the emails backed up and saved to disk for proof I would pose the question why would anyone do business with a person who is willing to treat friends/business partners, clients, or vendors in this manner. I am simply a website design company based out of the Dallas, TX but started in the McAllen area. Thankfully I don’t have to deal with clients like Marc Fantich Media Group on a regular basis. If you have any questions or would like to share your stories about this company good or bad I would love to hear them.

Brand Identity and Your Website Design

June 29th, 2009

Companies who have been in the public eye for awhile know all about brand identity. People who are just starting their companies, however, often have never heard of that term and have no idea what brand identity even is! And then there are those people who have had a successful business in the world and who are just bringing it to the digital realm – they often have no idea how they can take their current brand and can bring it over to the internet. Thanks to a website design company, you can not only create a new brand, you can make an existing brand even stronger.

What Is Branding?

When you hear somebody talk about the “Golden Arches” and you know exactly what they’re talking about. Or maybe someone draws a picture of a red bulls eye to hint to you where you’re going. You’ll know then too. That is branding at work. A brand identity is what you create in order to help represent your company visually. It is something that is meant to be only yours, and is something that will stick in the mind of your customers or clients at all times. One of the best ways to get your brand out there is through your website design. Dallas web design companies can help you to achieve that.

Bringing a Brand Over

If you’ve already got a brand, you’re halfway to where you need to be. A good web site design company can help you to transfer that brand over to your website, so that you not only catch the attention of new clients or customers, but so that you also create a cohesive bond between your website and your physical site.

Creating a Brand

If you’ve just started your business and have not yet created a visual identity, or you’ve got one but it doesn’t seem to be working, a developer who is skilled in website design can help you. They can work with you to create something that not only exemplifies what your business is all about, but that is memorable to the average person as well. Then it is a simple matter to take this design and to use it wherever you’d like to, making your brand even more powerful than it would be if it were only online.

One of the most important things to remember when creating a website is to incorporate your brand. If you’ve got one already, get it digital, and if you don’t have one, you should definitely think about getting one!
